Bursitis: Trochanteric bursitis most likely cause. Need to see physician for evaluation confirm diagnosis. Usually amenable to steroid injection.

Bursitis: Lateral (on the side) hip pain at your age is most likely a bursitis or something called iliotibial band tendonitis (itb). There is a band of tissue that goes from your knee to above your hip. The tissue can snap across the outside hip bone (greater trochanter) and cause pain. We see this in runners but other people can also get it. It is treated with physical therapy and maybe an injection.
