Quite a few: Cryosurgery (freezing cancer in the prostate) is being evaluated more extensively. For advanced cancer, newer immune therapies ( such as ipilumimab); newer targeting drugs as well as newer hormone blocking drugs are in development. Look up cancer.Gov for new prostate cancer clinical trials.

Vaccines, focal Tx: Focal aggressive treatments, high-intensity frequency ultrasound, focal radiosurgery, focal injections, vaccines seems to be the newer developing treatments. Traditional treatments treats the entire gland, like surgery or radiation. Rationale: even though the disease may be in one part of the gland now, other parts in the future may harbor disease and make treatment more difficult/impossible.
