No not rutpure, but: Aneurysmal interatrial septum refers to the 1cm billowing of the interatrial septum around a vertical axis. The risk with a PFO or ASD, is that of thromboembolism and potential stroke. Refer to research work by S. Homma from Columbia University, NY who initially suggested a link between cryptogenic stroke and PFO. Consider antiplatet therapy, before closure device, if possible.
