A member asked:

Your blood that's used for the blood patch go away after your spinal fluid regenerates itself? is there long time risks? (clots)...ect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood patch 2.0: After a blood patch is placed, the blood patch resolves. There is no risk of a blood clot with this procedure. There are no long time risks. The blood patch resolves after the dura heals. This normally takes days or weeks. The CSF replaces itself in a few hours.
