Other causes: The mammogram looks for any growth in the breast. Most such growths are painless. So if there is pain int he breast it may be due to other causes such as mastitis or fibrocystic condition of the breast. .These can be checked out and treated by a specialist in Breast diseases( e.g.an oncologist may be able to help her with medications).

Are you: referring to pain from the mammogram? Occasionally this is due to the amount of compression or aggressive positioning. If it was just temporary, it is probably nothing to worry about, and may not recur with the next mammogram. If the pain is a symptom not related to the mammogram, see your doctor for an evaluation.
