Sciatica for 3 days: may respond to bed rest, traction, heat (be sure the heating pad has an automatic shut off) Antispasmotic medications can help with muscle spasm in the low back. NSAIDS, epidural injections and short term use of narcotics may be indicated. Should you develop loss of neurologic function or have persistent disabling pain you may eventually need surgery. Start physical therapy before surgery.

Call/see your PCP: and discuss what OTCs you can use now until you can be seen or referred to an osteopathic physician (DO), who is a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine physician who can evaluate what's triggering your sciatica; treat it and get you out of pain immediately, and preventive measures you can take. Need to treat the pinched nerves directly and release it. Treat the cause, and get relief. it's that easy!
