Thigh pain: Shoulder surgery is often done in the 'beach chair' position. It can be a little awkward as a position, and, you were probably in it for at least a couple hours. In addition, if you were intubated on the drug succinylcholine, that can also cause muscle soreness. So yes, it can be a 'normal' pain. It should go away over the next few days.

NO: It may be due to positioning on the operation table especially if it the side opposite to the shoulder repair. I would worry about DVT so notify your surgeon and let him examine you or get a ultra sound of the legs
