Measured via CT: CT is most effective means of measuring femoral anteversion. Recent studies would suggest that patients treated with fractional lengthening of a snapping iliopsoas may experience inferior results if they also have excessive femoral anteversion (>25 degrees). The thinking is that in these patients the tendon may play a more critical role as a stabilizer of the hip and should not be disturbed.
