A few: The most popular theory is that side stitches are due to stretching of ligaments which support organs like spleen or liver made worse with the jolting of walking or running. Common suggestions include stretching, massage/pressure over the area. raise both hands above your head and inhale fully, expanding your abdominal and thoracic cavities, then exhale, & tighten core until pain subsides. Best!

Rib musculoskeletal.: Pain. You may have a stress fracture, or an injury to on or more of the intercostal muscles or even a costochondral cartilage injury or inflammation. The easiest way to find out is to have a physical exam and a chest film. See you regular doctor. This can be important to get to the bottom of so that you do not injure yourself further. Meanwhile avoid activities that make the pain worse. Feel well!
