On prednisone. i take glipizide er 5 xs 2/day. if i take prednisone first, then the glip, will it combat the roid spike?? diabetic, asthma bronchitis?

Glipizide, prednison: Hi. Glipizide is a very weak diabetes drug. If you were well controlled with glipizide monotherapy prior to starting prednisone, the glipizide will be unlikely to keep you controlled on prednisone; if you weren't well controlled to begin with, then there's not a chance. Is the prednisone a short burst and taper? If so, you may weather it. If it's chronic prednisone, plan on other diabetes meds.
