Wait till off drug: Elevated sugar readings are a common Prednisone side effect, which usually goes away when the wean to zero is completed. Don't count any sugar reading taken while on Prednisone as a reflection of the real you.

Yes: I would be careful about food intake for now, but once you finish the prednisone, things should return to normal. If you are on medication for the pre-diabetic state, it is important to continue them.

Yes!: The prednisone is contributing to your high blood sugar. I like to see that you are taking symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) and singulair as a preventive, but I am concerned you are potentially too ill for vigorous exercise right now! Work really hard on your diet and low sugar and find a good asthma specialist who can help with your preventive meds. Exercise and HealthyDiet are the ultimate cure for your prediabetes!
