A member asked:

I had recent major surgery and my medical records state that there was a full resuscitation? what exactly does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: Were you told about any problems during the surgery? Resuscitation means that a problem was reversed or taken care of--this can mean simply that you were given IV fluids, or it can mean that you were revived after cardiac arrest. Can't be more precise without more detailed info. Are you doing OK now? What type of surgery did you have? Emergency or elective?
