A member asked:

Generally speaking, is it appropriate to use hydromorphone to treat the symptoms of delirium if haloperidol is not very effective?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Absolutely not: Unless the delirium is caused by uncontrolled pain, hydromorphone is an inappropriate treatment for it. In fact, it may exacerbate delirium.
