A member asked:

Does steroid shot means a cortisone inj?and what if um diabetic and hv albuminuria (protienuria)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diabetes and steroid: Hi. First of all, if you're diabetic and have albuminuria, you need to aggressively control your diabetes and blood pressure. And any glucocorticoid (cortisone, triamcinolone, etc) will aggravate blood glucose control for a period of time. Make sure you are aggressively controlling diabetes and blood pressure (from your med list, that might not be the case).
