It is plausible.: Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer is an inherited disorder with a specific germline mutation that can be identified by testing. If she has this, her risk is >80% of developing advanced gastric cancer. She is also at a high risk of developing a type of breast cancer and should bereferred to a high risk breast cancer clinic for enhanced screening.
