A member asked:

Survival chances of my brother with esophagus cancer leading to jaundice. water accumulates in the stomach which needs to be removed daily?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bleak: Esophagus cancer does have a survival/cure rate but only when it is localised to the esophagus and treated aggressive at that time. Once it spreads outside into the abdomen or liver, then it is far advanced and rarely curable. It looks like your brother has very late stage disease now, so it is unlikely that he has much time left especailly if has already gone through the regular treatments..
