Spinal disc repair: The good news is that in 98% of cases, there is no need to do anything about a slipped disc. The body will usually dissolve the excess material in about 4-6 weeks and the pain goes away. Surgery or injection is generally only considered if there is still severe pain after 6 weeks.

Conservative spine: Depends on what exactly is wrong with the disc, and if it is truly a confirmed source of lower back pain. Early basic treatments include spinal strengthening (mostly extensor muscles), anti-inflammatories (if tolerated), and tissue work (massage, electrical stim, ultrasound, etc). If not effective, but confirmed as source, pain management for SELECTIVE diagnostic and therapeutic injections next.
