Over the counter: An oatmeal bath might give you relief. Allergic skin reactions generally are not serious though can be very uncomfortable. There are also over the counter hydrocortisone if it really is allergic (if you are unsure I would hold off).

Sounds serious : Better to be safe than sorry and go to the ER. The swelling could spread and the last thing you want is for it to reach your face, throat and airway. In the ER they may give you IV benadryl (diphenhydramine). Take care.
