Diet isn't the key: You need to find out (1) whether there is a treatable cause for her cirrhosis (hepatitis C is now usually curable if you can get the Rx; hepatitis B is manageable; even stopping alcohol can partly reverse a cirrhosis) (2) whether she's a candidate for transplant or portocaval shunt.
