A member asked:

My first baby born with ectodermal dysplasia, any precautions i can take for the next baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tough to say: Ectodermal dysplasias are a class of diseases, not a specific disease. Find out what type your first baby had, and your specialists will be able to give you accurate information regarding future children. Some types are dominant, some recessive, some only happen in male babies, and some are random. Recurrence /precautions depend on the type. There is prenatal testing available for some types
