Fibrous dysplasia: is a genetic disorder characterized by abnormal bone development and increased risk of fractures. Fortunately, only one bone is involved in most cases and symptoms usually present in childhood. In rare cases it is associated with hormonal imbalances. Complications are specific for which particular bone(s) are affected. An orthopedist should be part of your healthcare team.
