A member asked:

I have fibrous dysplasia. why does it glow in an x-rat or scan.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Due to bone density: Fibrous dysplasia is a bone disorder in which scar-like (fibrous) tissue develops in place of normal bone. As the bone grows, the softer, fibrous tissue expands, This denser tissue replaces the softer bone marrow and reflects the radiation beam to give a glowing effect on X ray
