A member asked:

I have fibrous dysplacia r occipital bone. what are the symptomsnof this. i also have chronic fibromyalgia & rem sleep behavior disorder and want to understand what symptoms are related to the fibrous dysplacia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fibrous dysplasia is a rare genetic disorder resulting in fibrous (scar) tissue replacing normal bone, not uncommonly involving one site. A true REM sleep disorder is a precursor to Parkinson's disease or Lewy Body Dementia. Fibromyalgia is often confused with a small fiber neuropathy. The issues are best sorted out in a medical school setting. None of these appear linked to each other.
