Tract to intestine: The duct is a connection that was necessary when your baby was in utero but should disappear. If not, it can be connected to the intestine at something called a Meckel's diverticulum. It presents with drainage from the intestine. It is not difficult to repair, usually through a small incision under the umbilicus and the connection is tied off.
