B12 is an i.m. injection but it's likely to put it into vessel by hitting them in depth of the butt. why is it said that aspirate before pushing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avoid IV injections: It has historically been recommended that the plunger be pulled back slightly after the initial puncture to check for inappropriate needle placement. If blood appears in the syringe, the needle tip is in a blood vessel (an undesirable place to inject certain medications).
