A 18-year-old female asked:

what can i do to have rapid weight gain and get healthy fat and muscle at the same time?

Unfortunately: there is no way to do that. Weight gain through increased muscle mass is a long and slow process. Fat gain, on the other hand, can be very quickly accomplished but is not recommended. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams.

This is not the same: You are referring to photodynamic therapy treatment for acne. We do not use this type of light therapy in dentistry. There are special lasers to treat oral conditions, but not the same.

My grandpa pulled a muscle in his back & went to the va hospital yestray. Hes home now & thr medication they gave him doesn't help the pain & his sides are now hurting. What else can we do?

Dr. Alvin Mathew
Internal Medicine 18 years experience
Call or go back VA: If the medication is not working, i'm sure the prescribing doctor wants to know. Call the doctor or go back to the va to get re-evaluated for possibly another treatment regimen. Depending on what was given, sometimes it takes more than 1 day to feel better but if you are concerned, definitely go back.
