Mouth lesion: Hi, there is no way to know exactly what would be the cause of ur lesion without seeing it, you need evaluation, the most common causes of painful mouth ulcer are Canker ulcer, Herpes, Lupus, lichen plans, HIV infection, Gum disease.

Lump in mouth: Do you smoke? The lump on roof of mouth--- what color? Is it off-white? When scratching, does it bleed? Difficulty swallowing? Major dental work before this problem started? Tonsils/adenoids previously removed? When lump in throat occurs, is there swelling of tongue, lips, or roof of mouth? Please see your regular doctor for exam when symptoms recur.
