A member asked:

Are healthtap doctors allowed to fill out a dbq (disability benefits questionnaire) issued by the dept. of veteran affairs, for ptsd?

Probably Not: No. Too complicated. You may find a doc on the concierge service to get involved but really, you should be evaluated in person for this and I'd bet it would necessitate a qualified Psychologist as well. Don't you have a VA doc? Yeah, yeah, I know about the VA but maybe doing it first through their system is best.

Some are: The DBQ application forms are a summary of the medical status of a veteran in relationship to claimed service connected disability. A team of contract physicians has been trained to perform these examinations and submit the DBQ forms. Some Health Tap doctors have had this training and can do this although the examinations are scheduled through organizations such as VES and QTC.l

Absolutely Yes: You are permitted to have your private psychiatrist of choice fill out your DBQ exam forms which are available online. In the case of PTSD or any other Behavioral Health diagnosis, you need to have had established a solid relationship with him/her outside of HealthTap, who has seen you in person at least one time prior to filling out those forms. It depends on comfort level of the psychiatrist.

Office visit only: PTSD evaluation for Veteran compensation has to be performed by Doctoral level providers who specializes in psychiatry(MD) or psychology (PhD), as opposed to a primary care physician. In addition, these visits have to be made in person, and not teleconference.
