How do amphetamines work? i know my vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) contains them, but meth also has amphetamine in it. i was curious what the difference was?

In a nut shell: they work by increasing the dopamine in the nerve synapses. Amphetamines like Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) contain a set amount of medication. Meth is illegal and as it is not made in a commercial lab the quality and strength is variable. Stick with your Vyvance it the safer alternative
