Ask friends, others: In addition to the prior excellent links provided, ask around for your area. Different agencies service different locations. Ask neighbors, friends, relatives, nurses, social workers, chaplains, doctors, and so on who they have worked with and if any stand out to them in that area.

Hospital operator: Although in his infancy, this is more and more becoming a recondite specialty. In general hospices employee a physician or a medical director that functions as a hospice physician. A local cancer doctor may be able to point you in the right direction, however if you call your local hospital and asked the operator they usually have a list of hospice doctors and if you ask their opinion off the record today actually give you a good indication of which physician may work for you.
