Is there any good reason to administer synthroid (thyroxine) to an 88-year-old patient in hospice for end stage aortic stenosis/valve failure, with alzheimer's?

Hospice: Most likely is not indicated. Please, talk to the doctor in order to establish and reevaluate the hospice palliative and comfort parameters.

Depends: There area many factors to consider when stopping a medication even in hospice. Ask the hospice nurse or doctor about the specifics of the decision.
