Other meds...: There are certainly other meds to control symptoms of lung inflammation. If we are talking about asthma alternatives like leukotriene inhibitors,mast cell stabilizers, methylxanthines like theophilline,among others which could help with this problem depending on the trigger. If we are talking about COPD then it is more difficult to treat since damage is not reversible and meds just treat symptoms
