Athletes foot: Reminder all Diabetics should receive an annual foot exam to identify high risk foot conditions. This exam should include assessment of protective sensation, foot structures and biomechanics, vascular status and skin integrity. You can try otc anti fungal treatment. I would still go to md and discuss hygiene proper shoes. Scratching the itch can lead to break in skin which can lead to infection
