Horseshoe kidney: occurs in approximately 1 in 500 people. Although not considered disabling, kidney stones and obstructions are more common, and one must take extra care to avoid excessive medications that are metabolized through the kidneys, and avoid activities that increase risk of trauma to the kidney area. It is associated with a variety of genetic disorders, of which some are associated with seizures.
