My daughter started having absence seizures last year the same year having her braces fitted. could the braces be a possible cause for the seizures? she is a top performer at school and has no learning difficulties.

No: Absence seizures originate within the brain, not from some external event like braces. While they can occur around the same time it is a coincidence.
