Cut gum: oral cuts can be "buggers" to heal since you can't put a dressing on them. I would use a very mild mouth rinse - 1/2 teaspoon of table salt in 8 oz of warm water - rinse and spit out. Try to avoid chewing gum or chewing food on the side of the cut and rinse your mouth out after food. It will take time but will heal. If it doesn't - please see your family doctor or oral surgeon.

Dentist, now!: What you are calling a cut may be just that, but may also be any of multiple lesions or may be gum disease. See your Dentist ASAP for differential diagnosis and treatment. Depending on cause, referral to Periodontist or to Oral Surgeon may be in order. Until you see Dentist temporary relief from 1 200mg Advil (ibuprofen) 4x/day w food or liquids, rinse w salt water, dab Orabase-B onto area w Q-Tip.
