Gingival recession can be cause by many factors, including calculus buildup, smoking, excessively hard brushing, or parafunctional habits to name a few. Jest the opposite. An alkaline, rather than acidic, oral environment favors increases activity of the bacteria associated with gum disease. You need professional help. This is not a do-it-yourself project. Please seek evaluation by a General Dentist or a gum specialist Periodontist. Bad breath may be due to sulfur producing bacteria between your teeth. Just another reason to floss daily.
