Routine screens: Routine screenings during early pregnancy provide important information regarding the health of the mother, and how it may impact the pregnancy and fetus. Infections such as HIV, syphilis, Hepatitis B and Rubella are usually in the initial blood panel. Urine will likely also be examined, as well as a hemoglobin level (checks for anemia). Many tests.: HIV is about the least worry. Anemia, blood sugar, general nutritional state would certainly be tested for. Also, tests for blood compatibility.
