A member asked:

I have a lump on my ankle that i started noticing 3 months ago. does not hurt and feels hard. seems to align with the tendon. thoughts? i have an appointment scheduled in five days with a orthopedic surgeon.

Cyst/partial tear: There are many causes of lumps on tendons. Common ones include a tendon sheath cyst or partial tear with inflammation surrounding the area of healing. It is good to get it checked out by an orthopedist, to make sure of the diagnosis.
