Antibiotics/Strep: Antibiotics will seldom alter the clinical course of strep throat. They are intended primarily to prevent the onset of post-streptococcal rheumatic fever. Occasionally rapid administration may shorten the course of symptoms a bit. This sounds like you may have something else, like infectious mononucleosis. Go back and see your doctor. Good luck.
