See below.: Pain in the neck is generally not a symptom of meningitis.The symptoms of meningitis are stiff (not painful) neck, fever, headache, achy, sometimes vomiting and in some serious strains, a red spotty rash. Your symptoms sound more like a viral illness. If you also have a sore throat, you could have strep. I would recommend that you call/see your own doctor, especially if the symptoms are worsening.

Headache: In my experience people complain more of headache and then will sometimes have neck pain when examined. There are different types of meningitis, some more serious than others. If you are having fever with headache and are concerned or feel cloudy at all then please be seen.
