No: Spherocytosis is a condition characterized by rigidity of the red blood cells that are destroyed faster than in normal individuals. It may be acquired or hereditary, but the treatment is mostly supportive. In advanced cases the spleen may be removed or the gallbladder for symptomatic gallstones.
