Can you still have ra or lupus without it showing in blood work? not sure what test doc did either.

Potentially: Some patients with RA will not show positive blood markers for quite some time after they develop the condition. There is a term called seronegative spondyloarthropathies that describes a group of patients that clearly have an inflammatory arthritis, but there blood tests are negative.
