Regional variation: Dexedrine consist of dextroamphetamine while Adderall consist of a combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. There are some physicians here who do prescribe Dexedrine, but I think in general United States physicians are more comfortable with either Adderall or Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine).

Dexedrine: Dexedrine was approved by the U.S. FDA in 1976. Since that time, safer and better treatment options have been developed for the treatment of both depression & ADHD.
