If?: Are you still numb? No? Not having significant pain? Then you should be fine. When treating a cavity, if it is determined further treatment is need such as a root canal, the dentist usually place a sedative filling to prevent pain. If the dentist found the tooth nerve was already non-vital with no pus or pain, any temporary filling will be fine. If you have pain call your dentist
