Is there a way to balance hormones to prevent monthly migraines?

Sometimes: Depending on the regularity and timing of a migraine. Migraines that come around or during menses can freq be prevented with a continuous ocp. (only take active pills everyday and avoid cyclic pills). A pill was marketed that added a slight boost of estrogen in last week that was helpful for some patients. If not on a pill, estrogen patch for 1-2 weeks may help some.

Yes: Hormones can be a trigger for some patients. Some can improve with various treatments including ocp. You need to discuss with your migraine doctor.
