Carotid artery: It is possible the sound / thumping is from your carotid artery. The path the carotid artery takes to the brain goes through a bone "tunnel" in the skull. It is possible to "hear" the artery pulsations by bone conduction to the middle ear. I doubt this is a serious problem . See your health provider.Check your your blood pressure.Calm down.You are not in danger

Why do I keep hearing a thumping sound in my ears?
I have thumping, throbbing, and whooshing sounds in my left ear. My hearing is slightly affected. I also have pain behind my ear and left side of my head, without any previous bump.
Ear thumping episodes lasting anywhere from seconds to minutes. Ear feels clogged but no hearing loss. Ear opens up everytime I yawn, this never happened before. Been going on for 5 weeks. No drainage or pain?
I am experiencing constant crackling in both ears and random jaw pops (rare, but very noticeable) ,thumping and sudden drops in hearing in my ears. what could this be?
