Carotid artery: It is possible the sound / thumping is from your carotid artery. The path the carotid artery takes to the brain goes through a bone "tunnel" in the skull. It is possible to "hear" the artery pulsations by bone conduction to the middle ear. I doubt this is a serious problem . See your health provider.Check your your blood pressure.Calm down.You are not in danger
