PTH: PTH is parathyroid hormone, made by the parathyroid glands in the neck (typically there are 4 small glands in back of the thyroid). PTH draws calcium out of your bones and keeps the blood level constant. If you have an overactive parathyroid gland, PTH is too high, and blood calcium is too high. There are various clip products of the PTH protein in blood; "intact" measures the main protein.
