Zoloft (sertraline) for anxiety: has been shown to be effective in teens, adults and older kids. It is used for both social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. It may take a couple of weeks before the full effect is experienced. 12.5 mg is a common starting dose. You'll want to follow up with the prescribing physician after a couple of weeks to discuss your response and to maybe adjust the dose.
