I have history of depression and alcohol over use, my primar md gave mi antidepressant sertraline, 50 mg , told me i can have a few drinks per week.

Sertraline: It is not wise to use alcohol with sertraline. Sertraline slows the metabolism of alcohol, so that you may have sustained alcohol levels and might be at risk for a DUI if driving. I generally tell my patients on sertraline to avoid alcohol altogether.
